Meet The Team
Dr Sharon Oliver MB ChB, BSc Hons, FP Cert. (Qualified Liverpool 1988)
Sharon Oliver gained a science and then a medical degree at Liverpool University.
She worked in several local hospitals before completing her GP training in 1992.
Shortly after this she joined the practice. Her special interest is Dermatology.
Sharon is married with 2 children.
Dr Anna Ferguson MB ChB, MRCGP, DSRH (Qualified Manchester 1999)
Anna Ferguson grew up in Crosby and went on to study medicine at the University of Manchester, qualifying in 1999. She then practised as a junior doctor in Manchester and Blackpool before moving home to Liverpool.
After working in hospitals for some years, Anna qualified as a GP in 2004 and joined the Strand Medical Centre in 2005, becoming a partner the following year.
Her special interests are women's medicine and sexual health, and she runs the intra-uterine and contraceptive implant service at the practice.
Anna is the lead GP for Sexual Health in South Sefton and when not working , Anna is kept very busy running around after her two young children.
Dr Massimo Gozzelino MD, MMG, DTM&H (Qualified Italy 1996)
Massimo Gozzelino was born in Torino, Italy in 1970, he graduated from Universita' di Torino in 1996.
Following a Diploma in Tropical Medicine at Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine he worked in primary care in Angola, as medical officer and field team leader for the international organisation Medicins Sans Frontieres.
Massimo completed his vocational training scheme in General Practice in Italy in 2002.
In December 2004 he joined this practice and became a partner in April 2007.
He has a special interest in Addiction Medicine, which he still practices on a part time basis.
Massimo has three children
Jenny joined our team in 2016 as a full time Nurse Practitioner. She qualified as a non medical prescriber in 2014 and gained a post graduate certificate in advanced nursing practice in 2015. Her previous roles include working as a hospital sister and as a regional alcohol lead. Jenny is able to diagnose medical problems, order investigations, prescribe medications and make referrals for medical conditions within her scope of practice.
Practice Nurse Liz Swainston
Liz joined our practice in April 2016. Liz is working one day per week at our practice, seeing patients for their annual health checks and childhood immunisations. Liz has previously worked as a ward sister at The Royal Liverpool Hospital.
Health Care Assistants
Lianne Lynch and Amanda Crellin see our new patients for a health check on joining the practice, they also see patients for blood pressure, weight management and lifestyle advice and most importantly phlebotomy services.

Other Health Professionals
Midwives - A team of Midwives attend the surgery on Mondays to look after our pregnant patients.
Health Visitors - are based in Netherton and you can contact them on 0151 247 6147
Jane is Practice Manager, she is responsible for the day to day management of the practice. She is happy to help with any non-medical queries or suggestions you may have to help improve the running of the practice. She is also responsible for our complaints procedure.
Our Receptionists Anne, Abi, Andrea and Ellen led by Office Manger Mandy are all trained to assist you by arranging appointments and dealing with your enquiries. We currently have an apprentice receptionist, Aime. Any information you give to any member of staff is treated in absolute confidence.
Our administration support is provided by Karen and Annie
